About Raisa
Raisa Mariam Rajan is a Guinness World Record Holder, architect, entrepreneur, and artist living in Dubai. Raisa is one of the first proponents of sustainable art in the UAE. Being an advocate of sustainability, Raisa has been significant in spreading awareness in fields of art and business alike. Her sustainable art has been exhibited on prestigious platforms like COP28, UNESCO Heritage Site in Italy and Spain, the Cannes Art Biennale during the Cannes Film Festival, the Qatar International Art Festival, and many more. Raisa has proven her proficiency in creating giant art projects, which include jumbo art – JAWHARA, the 51 m long painting project in Abu Dhabi, and her rope artworks at COP28. Raisa's expertise as an architect has been instrumental in creating huge artworks picturizing natural structures across the world.
TO SURVIVE IS TO SUSTAIN
Raisa’s life and art took a new turn when her research in the creative field revealed a whole new world of sustainable possibilities in art. Raisa travelled across the world in search of new techniques and mediums that could create sustainable art. She learned various techniques, both traditional and modern, for creating sustainable art products. Incorporating these materials, she created her first- ever sustainable art piece, which immediately captured the eyes of art lovers across UAE. Raisa holds a Guinness World Record for “most nationalities in an art lesson, “ where she taught a lesson on sustainable art to 65 nationalities.
REFLECTION: THE FEMININE WITHIN
Raisa is selected to represent UAE’s Year of Sustainability 2023 along with her artwork named “REFLECTION” at Contemporary Art Cannes Biennale during the Cannes film festival 2023 as she is one of the first to advocate sustainability in the field of art and facilities management in UAE.
