ACHIEVEMENTS
A Proud moment with the COP28 President His Excellency Dr Sultan Ahmed Al Jaber
A memorable meeting with H.E.Dr Sultan Ahmed Al Jaber, President of COP28, Minister of Industry and Advanced Technology, Managing Director and Group Chief Executive of ADNOC, and the cherry on top - my work has been chosen to adorn the walls in his office. An artist's journey is led forward by leaps and bounds when there is true appreciation for their efforts. It was a culmination of a lot of memorable days, starting from the opportunity to do a solo exhibition in COP28, Blue Zone to my work being chosen to decorate the office. The journey of my rope art "Tranquility” started from Expo City and now it is at one of the most prestigious destinations a sustainable art can reach.
Guinness World Record: Most Nationalities in an Art Lesson
The idea of creating a Guinness World Record in the Most Nationalities in an Art Lesson and 51m long painting originated from the sustainable artist and architect Raisa Mariam Rajan. The record was made with two intentions, one is to connect people from different parts of the world and the other is to spread the idea of sustainability in art. The duration of the lesson was 50 minutes, during the class, the participants were taught to create a cloth effect on a canvas using sustainable products along with painting on it.
Raisa Mariam Rajan: Canvas for Change & The Thread of Nature:
Weaving rope and thread into landscapes of memory and ecology, Raisa Mariam Rajan creates art that reimagines sustainability as both heritage and hope. Raisa Mariam Rajan’s practice emerges at the intersection of material, memory, and environmental consciousness. Working primarily with jute rope and zari, she redefines the language of sustainability through materials that are at once ecological and deeply cultural. Jute, a fibre rooted in durability and biodegradability, speaks to the earth’s resilience, while zari — the shimmering thread of South Asian textile tradition — carries the weight of craft, heritage, and ornamentation. Together, they form a dialogue between fragility and strength, tradition and transformation.
