The artist has created the entire artwork to produce a visual appearance of stalagmite. A Stalagmite is a mound or column rising from the floor of a cave, formed of calcium salts deposited by dripping water and often uniting with a stalactite. It can be considered as an inverted Stalactite which gradually grows up from the thicker base to a sharper edge. The artist considers this as a symbolic hand trying hard to touch the stalactite that is growing towards it. For the artist, this represents hope. The greatest virtue that helps in sustaining humankind is hope and nature often exemplifies this in various forms. The artist has carefully chosen these natural structures to help her fellow beings remember the essential role nature plays in our lives on physical as well as spiritual levels.
